PROJECT: Houston ISD Madison High School Pool Repairs

CLIENT: Houston Independent School District

LOCATION: Madison High School

COMPLETION: January 2023

E Contractors was selected by Houston ISD to undertake the renovation and repairs of the pool at Madison High School, a project of significant importance to the school and its community. The scope of work encompassed several key areas to ensure the pool area was revitalized and brought up to modern standards.

One crucial aspect of the project was the HVAC work. E Contractors diligently assessed and addressed the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems related to the pool area. This work aimed to optimize the climate control within the space, ensuring swimmers and spectators can enjoy a comfortable environment regardless of the weather outside.

Additionally, E Contractors carried out painting, steel work, and roofing repairs. By refreshing the pool area’s appearance and reinforcing the structural integrity of the building, E Contractors enhanced both the visual appeal and safety of the space. The repainting likely created a fresh and inviting atmosphere, while the steel work and roofing repairs helped safeguard the pool area from potential damage and leaks.

As part of the renovation project, E Contractors focused on hardware replacement and electrical upgrades. Panic devices, crucial for emergency situations, were removed and replaced to ensure the utmost safety for pool users. The electrical scope involved installing conduit and wire connections for new exhaust fans, as well as supplying and installing new breakers to support the fan systems.

Door maintenance and replacements were also key components of the project. E Contractors systematically replaced steel rollers, bottom fixtures, steel torsion springs, and steel lifting cables on all eight doors. By meticulously adjusting and lubricating the doors, they ensured smooth and reliable operation.

Lastly, E Contractors undertook the essential task of pool equipment replacement. This involved installing new pool ladders, starting platforms, and an ADA Lift, which not only enhance safety but also promote inclusivity by ensuring accessibility for individuals with disabilities.
